Samrat Prithviraj Box Office Collection Day 1: Word Of Mouth To Play A Big Role As Advance Bookings Remain Low – See Latest

0

The advance booking for this Akshay Kumar starrer opened five days before the film’s release, but there hasn’t been much movement. Samrat Prithviraj has sold around 21000 tickets as of Friday morning in the three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – which is significantly less than previous releases like RRR and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which had posted sales upwards of 45K at the same period. In the film’s defense, advance bookings for non-holiday Akshay Kumar pictures have never been high, and it’s the on-the-shelf tickets that result in a good opening.

Because Samrat Prithviraj is a lot larger film, one would expect some movement in advance bookings, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday, but this hasn’t happened. As a result, the film is primarily reliant on Friday spot bookings. After a poor start, Samrat Prithviraj will require massive jumps on Saturday and Sunday, followed by a great hold on Monday, to keep the momentum going during the dramatic run. As per our assessment, Samrat Prithviraj box office collection day 1 figure could be somewhere around ₹12-13 crores, to say the least.

With the kind of budget and subject, anything less ₹15 crores will be deemed a disappointing start, but historical films have the ability to have lengthy legs, and if that happens, the picture might make up for the opening day shortfall in the long run.
