TL;DR

  • Samsung has launched the Galaxy M14 5G in Ukraine.
  • The budget phone ships with a large, 6,000mAh battery.
  • This new handset also comes with a 3.5mm port and microSD support.

Samsung’s Galaxy A series gets all the attention in the budget tier, but the firm also offers the M series in some markets. Now, the Korean brand has quietly launched a new entry in this wallet-friendly range.

The Samsung Galaxy M14 5G just launched in Ukraine (h/t: MySmartPrice), and its defining feature has to be the 6,000mAh battery. That’s a much bigger battery than the Galaxy S23 Ultra (5,000mAh) and Galaxy Z Fold 4 (4,400mAh), so two-day usage shouldn’t be a problem at all. It’s not the first time we’ve seen a Samsung device with a 6,000mAh battery, but it’s still a welcome sight anyway.

Conflicting reports suggest that the phone either supports 15W or 25W wired charging. We hope it’s the latter, as charging a 6,000mAh battery at 15W would be excruciatingly slow (not that 25W charging would be fast).

The phone is also equipped with an Exynos 1330 processor, which seems like a slightly downgraded version of the middling Exynos 1280 chipset in the Galaxy A33 and A53. That means a 5nm design, octa-core CPU (two Cortex-A78, six Cortex-A55) and a Mali-G68 MC2 GPU. Don’t expect support for the faster but more temperamental mmWave 5G standard here, either.

Other notable features include a 6.6-inch 90Hz LCD screen (FHD+), 4GB of RAM, 64GB of 128GB of storage, and a side fingerprint scanner. Camera duties are handled by a 50MP+2MP+2MP rear setup and a 13MP shooter in a waterdrop notch.

The Samsung Galaxy M14 5G also arrives with two increasingly uncommon features, namely a 3.5mm port and microSD card support via a dedicated slot. Finally, the company is promising two major OS upgrades and four years of security patches. This is a pretty solid pledge for a budget phone.

Expect to pay 8,299 Ukrainian hryvnias (~$222) for the 4GB/64GB Galaxy M14 5G, while the 4GB/128GB variant will set you back 8,999 Ukrainian hryvnias (~$241). There’s no word on wider availability just yet.
