According to noted tech leaker Ice Universe, Samsung will announce the Galaxy S23 smartphones at the first Galaxy Unpacked event for 2023 on February 1. Unfortunately, his tweet did not add much context and only mentioned the words “February 1” in one tweet and “Galaxy Unpacked” in another tweet. What gave even more credence to Ice Universe’s tweet was a reply from another noted leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, who is popularly known as @OnLeaks on Twitter. Steve’s reply was a simple GIF image with the text, “That’s True.”
If these claims prove true, the Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup could be announced a week earlier than last year. This could also mean that Samsung could start selling the devices a week sooner than last year. We also expect Samsung to begin sending invites for the launch event in the weeks to come.
In related news, the Galaxy S23 made a recent appearance (via GSM Arena) on Geekbench. The listing gave further credence to the assertion that the device will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. There have also been rumors of the European version of the Galaxy S23 getting a slightly overclocked version of the Qualcomm chipset.
