San Jose: Student stabbed at Sunrise Middle School

SAN JOSE — A student was stabbed Wednesday afternoon at a middle school near the San Jose High campus, authorities said.

The stabbing was reported about 12:07 p.m. Wednesday at Sunrise Middle School, a charter school at 1149 E. Julian Street. San Jose High School is located just across the street.

The 15-year-old student who was stabbed was expected to survive, police said in a tweet Wednesday afternoon. Authorities did not specify where the student was stabbed or how many times.

Another student was taken into custody as a suspect in the stabbing, police said.
