Sara Ali Khan REVEALS why she made her Cannes debut wearing a lehenga

Sara Ali Khan made her Cannes debut this year. For her first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, Sara opted for an outfit designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. She looked breathtakingly beautiful in a lehenga. The actress wore a pastel blouse with silver embellishment details and a plunging neckline. She rounded off her look with a flowy skirt and matching dupatta. Sara tied her hair in a low bun and wore minimal jewellery. Fans loved that Sara went desi at Cannes.

Sara shared photos of herself looking drop-dead gorgeous on Instagram and wrote in the caption, “You Cannes do it.”

Sara admitted to feeling nervous as she made her Cannes debut. She added, “I always aspired to be here someday. I can’t believe I am here.” Furthermore, Sara explained why she chose to wear a lehenga at Cannes. The actress said, “It (the outfit) is traditional Indian, handmade work. And I have always been very proud of my ‘Indianness’ and therefore it embodies who I am, I think it is fresh, modern but also traditional Indian.”

Reacting to Sara’s desi look, a fan commented, “The true representation of India… A royal representation.” Another fan dropped a comment saying, “Thank you keeping with your culture. You look fabulous.” “The way she’s slaying in Indian,” wrote a fan. Another fan commented, “So pretty.” “Proud of you,” wrote a fan.

On the work front, Sara has Laxman Utekar’s Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. Sara will share screen space with Vicky Kaushal in the same. The trailer of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke released on Monday. On Vicky Kaushal’s birthday (Tuesday), the makers released Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’s first song titled Phir Aur Kya Chahiye. The film is slated to release on June 2.
