Sarah Beeny has shared her sons will be taking to the stage at Glastonbury to perform a song they wrote in tribute to her.
The New Life in the Country star, 51, was diagnosed with breast cancer in August last year after losing her own mum to the disease when she was just 10.
Keeping fans updated throughout her journey, which included chemotherapy treatment and losing her hair, in April she revealed she had been given the all-clear.
Now she’s said that after penning a song about her battle with the disease, her sons Billy, Charlie, Rafferty and Laurie, will be performing at the iconic festival next month.
Appearing on This Morning on Tuesday, Sarah spoke about the exciting moment for the family.
‘It’s amazing. They have a band, and over the past few years, people have struggled quite a lot with life generally and they have a band, The Entitled Sons, which they call themselves ironically,’ she explained when speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Josie Copson.
‘They are very cool and have done amazingly and have released various songs and have just won a competition and will be playing at Glastonbury this year,’ she continued.
‘They also wrote a song which is coming out on Friday called These Days for cancer research and it’s a song that made me cry actually when they played it for me.’
She then said the song was about ‘going through a hard time’, but how things would ‘always get better’.
‘It’s incredibly uplifting and I am so proud.’
Sarah then joked she was looking forward to benefitting from the perks of their gig and would be looking to try and get backstage at the event, where acts including Lizzo, Rick Astley, Elton John and Fatboy Slim, are also playing.
The Somerset based band also includes their dad, and Sarah’s husband, Graham Swift.
They won their slot by competing in the Pilton Stage competition.
During the breakfast TV interview Sarah also spoke about how she assumed ‘that would be it’ when first diagnosed with cancer.
While she said she had ‘sort of expected it’ after her mum’s battle with the disease, it was ‘still scary’ and it did ‘take time’ to get her head around the idea she could survive.
When speaking on The One Show last month about getting the all-clear, Sarah also said she was feeling lucky with the diagnosis she had and to ‘live in 2022 in the UK with the amazing NHS’.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
