The BBC has the support of Sarah Everard’s family to make a major TV documentary about her murder.
Producers are setting up interviews 14 months after the 33-year-old marketing executive was killed by rogue cop Wayne Couzens.
Sarah’s family – including mum Susan, dad Jeremy, sister Katie and brother James – could be involved.
The programme will detail not only the crime but also probe the failures by authorities, including the police, to identify Couzens as a danger.
A source said: “The documentary is being made with the blessing of Sarah’s family. It will focus on the case, the public reaction, the aftermath and the wider repercussions.
“This was a landmark case and it is important that it is examined and explained to as large an audience as possible.”

Couzens, 49, was handed a whole life prison sentence last September after he admitted kidnapping Sarah in South London before raping and murdering her, a crime that shocked the country and led to protests.
The Old Bailey heard Couzens used emergency Covid powers to falsely arrest and handcuff Sarah before driving 80 miles to Kent where he strangled her with his police belt.
Two months ago, Couzens, who was a diplomatic protection officer with the Met Police, was charged with four counts of indecent exposure in the six weeks before he killed Sarah. A vetting check when he joined the Met failed to flag up that his car had been linked to an alleged exposure incident in Kent in 2015.
