The Saratoga High School marching band and color guard made a strong showing in the Cupertino Tournament of Bands Oct. 8 at Cupertino High School.
Competing against 10 other local high schools, the band won second place overall as well as in the general effect, visual performance and percussion categories, and the color guard won first place in its category.
“Our extracurricular offerings at both Saratoga High School and Los Gatos High School are among the best in the area,” said Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District Superintendent Bill W. Sanderson in a press release. “I am incredibly proud of the commitment and dedication of our music students and staff. Their passion toward the marching band and color guard is evident in their award-winning performances.”
The band and color guard will perform together this fall before splitting off for their competitive season this winter.
