Save £60 on Nintendo Switch OLED bundle for Black Friday

If you’re using Black Friday to complete your Christmas shopping, then Very has a fantastic deal for you. One of the best Black Friday deals of 2022, Very is offering gaming fans the chance to purchase a Nintendo Switch OLED Edition with both new Pokemon games at a massive discount. Representing a saving of £60 (based on existing Very prices), Very customers can grab a Switch OLED with Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet for £329.

If you don’t want or need both new Pokemon games, you could always trade one of them and use the money towards a different title.

Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet only launched last week, so to see them discounted this heavily is unusual.

Indeed, the games actually retail for £49.99 on the Nintendo eShop and outlets like GAME.

The new Nintendo Switch releases take place in the region of Paldea, which is described as “a sprawling land of vast open spaces dotted with lakes, towering peaks, wastelands and perilous mountain ranges”.

“Go freely back and forth between three grand stories as you follow your own path. Beat the eight Gyms spread across the region – in any order – to prove your strength and aim for the Champion Rank!”

Needless to say, the game features a host of brand new Pocket Monsters to catch and train.

This includes new starter Pokemon Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. The latter is a water Pokemon that according to Nintendo, doesn’t like to get its head dirty.

Sprigatito is a grass Pokemon that resembles a cat, while Fuecoco is a fire monster with a big appetite.

Express Online will post its Pokemon Scarlet and Violet review soon, so check back for a deeper dive into what works and what doesn’t.

As for the Nintendo Switch OLED Edition, the recently released console is essentially a super-powered Switch, featuring a far superior screen compared to the original console.

The upgraded device features more vibrant colours and a higher contrast, while the 7-inch display gives you more real estate when playing in handheld mode.

Other improvements include a wider adjustable stand for tabletop mode, as well as a LAN port for improved online performance.

With 64BG of internal storage, the Nintendo Switch OLED Model can hold more games – although we’d recommend an additional SD card if you tend to download lots of titles from the eShop.
