Schrock, Etheridge headline Azkals’ training pool

MANILA, Philippines — Stephan Schrock and Neil Etheridge banner the 30-man training pool of the Philippine Azkals for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers from June 8 to 14 in Mongolia.

The Philippine men’s football team management on Friday bared the training pool under the returning coach Thomas Dooley.

National team mainstay Schrock and Birmingham City goalkeeper Etheridge are set to reunite with the American coach.

Bundesliga player Gerrit Holtmann, Bienvenido Marañon, Carli de Murga and Jefferson Tabinas are also part of the pool.

Completing the 30-man pool are Amani Aguinaldo, Mike and Manuel Ott, Dennis Villanueva, Oskari Kekkonen, Jesse Curran, OJ Porteria, Patrick Reichelt, Sandro Reyes, Dylan De Bruycker, Oliver Bias, Dennis Chung, Diego Bardanca, Daisuke Sato, Miguel Mendoza, Jaime Rosquillo, Matthew Nierras, Mark Hartmann, Ivan Ouano, Jhan-Jhan Melliza, Kenshiro Daniels and other goalies Anthony Pinthus, Kevin Ray Hansen, and Quincy Kammeraad.

The men’s national football team is slated to play against Yemen, Mongolia and Palestine in Group B.

The Azkals will train until June 3 before flying to Mongolia.
