There was a technical fault with the aircraft, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, said Scoot.
“A decision was then made to return to Perth. As the required spares must be uplifted to Perth, TR009 could not be recovered in time,” said Scoot.
Scoot has offered to accommodate affected passengers on a 6pm flight on TR009 on Tuesday, subject to availability.
The low-cost carrier also said it has arranged for a relief flight that will arrive in Perth at 8pm on Tuesday and depart at 9pm.
Following the incident, Perth-based passengers were advised to return to their homes, while hotel accommodation was provided for other passengers. Passengers with connecting flights will also be provided assistance, said Scoot.
“Scoot sincerely apologises for the disruption and inconvenience to our customers,” it said.
“The safety of our customers and crew is our top priority, we will continue to provide customers with the assistance required.”
