Scotland is beginning a ‘phased return to the office’, with the Scottish Government updating its guidance on working from home.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the requirement for two-metre distancing in some settings will be reduced to one metre, as she eased Covid rules.

Ms Sturgeon suggested the updated guidance on working during the Covid pandemic, meant less people would be working from home.

The change to distancing guidance will apply to events like religious services and those carrying out receptionist duties.

Updating MSPs, the Ms Sturgeon also announced a change affecting organised activities for children.

She said: ‘From Friday, face coverings will no longer be required for any adult taking part in organised activities when they are directly interacting with children under the age of five.’
