The Scottish Open gets underway on Monday morning but it is unfortunately not in Scotland, but moves to a temporary home in Llandudno, Wales.

Contractual issues over the planned venue in Glasgow meant plans were changed and the event was switched to the scenic setting on the Welsh coastline.

Both Neil Robertson and Mark Williams pulled out of the event over the weekend, but there is still a star-studded line-up, including defending champion Mark Selby, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump, John Higgins and Kyren Wilson.

Newly crowned UK champion Zhao Xintong lost his qualifying match so will not be here this week, although runner-up Luca Brecel is in second round action against Joe Perry.

When and where is the Scottish Open?

The event runs from 6-12 December at Venue Cymru in Lladudno, Wales.

The Scottish Open was due to be held in Scotland, obviously, but a contractual issue regarding sponsorship of the event caused the Emirates Arena in Glasgow to pull out and no suitable replacement was found in Scotland, so the competition was moved to Wales.

How to watch the Scottish Open
