SDCC ’21: Starlin joins Alien Samurai Dino Warriors

0

At every Comic-Con there is the headline that speaks for itself, and here we go. What are Alien Samurai Dino Warriors? Do I really need to explain? Well I guess I do. The project is the brainchild of actor and 2x No.1 DJ of The World, Dimitri ‘Vegas’ Thivaios, who is getting to live his childhood dream of making comics. Joining him on the venture are producer David Uslan, and legendary producer  Michael Uslan, writer Erik Burnham, and now Starling, the creator of Marvel’s Infinity war uber-villain Thanos and many other Marvel characters including Drax The Destroyer and Gamora.

Artists on the project include Brett Booth Stephen Segovia, Damian Couceiro (nd Dan Schoening.

This team will assemble for an  Alien Samurai Dino Warriors graphic novel set for release in fall 2022. As for the contents, it involves Dinosaurs who are also aliens and samurai. Got it? At least Starlin is having fun. “I have had so much fun drawing bad-ass, tyrannical dinosaurs,” he told the Beat.  “I was eager to jump in when David and Dimitri brought me this project. Along with Dreadstar and Thanos, this has definitely been one of the more entertaining projects I’ve worked on in the last few years.”

There is more to it, I’m told, including NFTs of course. There’s a panel today at San Diego Comic-Con Special Edition that will reveal much more…it’s billed at the first ever ComicCon panel on NFTs so that’s the thing now. Will NFTs still be a thing when big Comic-Con returns next year? That remains to be seen.
