‘MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines found its groove in the second half en route to a 5-0 romp of Cambodia in Group A to kick off its women’s football campaign in the 31st Southeast Asian Games at Cam Pha Stadium in Vietnam.

The Filipinas unleashed four goals over a 15-minute span in the second half with Sarina Bolden converting in the 65th minute and Eva Madarang making it 3-0 three minutes later.

Quinley Quezada and Anicka Castañeda padded on to the commanding lead in the 76th minute and 80th minute.

“It probably was not our best performance, but we are glad with the win,” said head coach Alen Stajcic on their first victory this SEA Games.

“It was very tough and the conditions was hot and humid, but we found our form but we know that there’s room for improvement.”

Isabella Flanigan opened the scoring for the Philippines in the 27th minute.
