Former Burnley manager Sean Dyche has thanked the club and its supporters after his ten-year spell came to an end a week ago.
The Clarets sacked Dyche on Good Friday after a decade in charge at Turf Moor and with Burnley in danger of suffering relegation down to the Championship after six years in England’s top flight. During Dyche’s reign, Burnley won two promotions up to the Premier League, have spent seven seasons in the Premier League and reaching the qualification play-off rounds of the Europa League in the 2018/19 season.
However, with Burnley 18th in the table, Dyche was let go by the club’s hierarchy, with under-23s boss Mike Jackson taking charge of Sunday’s draw on a caretaker basis with West Ham and Thursday’s win over Southampton.
Speaking about his time with the Clarets, Dyche admitted he loved his decade at the club both on and off the pitch.
“I would like to thank the people of Burnley and fans of the club for their incredible kindness and support since I joined the club in 2012,” Dyche posted on the League Managers Association website. “The town has become a huge part of my life, and myself and my family thank you for everything we have all experienced together during my time as manager. Amongst the many challenges, there have been some truly incredible times, which are never to be forgotten.
“I would like to express my gratitude to all players and staff, past and present, for the hard work and commitment they have shown throughout my time at the club. The memories of promotion campaigns, European travels and competing against some of the best teams in the world will always stay with me.

“I would also like to thank the directors and owners who I have worked with for their help over the past decade. The club has changed so much during this time, with improvements across the infrastructure, training ground and academy ensuring the future of the club is protected both on and off the pitch.
“The successes and building process from where the club was, to where it is now has been by no means by myself. The help of so many people has made it happen and I thank them all, particularly my football staff who have worked so diligently over the years.
“Finally, I would like to thank people across football who have been so positive about my career in recent days. I appreciate the kind words of my colleagues in the game and I look forward to the next phase of my career.”
Burnley have just six games left to avoid Premier League relegation this season, having won just five of their 32 top-flight matches this term. The most recent of those wins came on Thursday night, where goals from Connor Roberts and Nathan Collins secured three points for the Clarets.
The Clarets had been heavily linked with acquiring Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder as Dyche’s replacement. However, the Boro boss has on Friday distanced himself from links with a move to Turf Moor.
There has been some links with caretaker boss Jackson taking the role permanently, while Wayne Rooney and Carlos Carvalhal are among the names that have also been touted.
