One of the men named in the Fetty Wap federal drug case accepted a guilty plea that will see him face between five years to life in prison.

New Jersey corrections officer Anthony Cyntje, one of the six individuals named in the drug case, filed his plea deal on June 30, 2022. The 23-year-old pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and using a weapon in connection with drug trafficking charges, and had been an officer for less than a year when he was first arrested.

According to the plea form, the maximum penalty for the conspiracy charge is 20 years behind bars plus a fine of $1 million, while the maximum penalty for the firearm charge is life in prison and a fine of $250,000. The minimum for each is zero and five years, respectively. In the plea agreement, Cyntje admitted to driving a vehicle from New Jersey to Long Island in possession of a weapon. He claimed the drugs in the vehicle “were put in…by another person.”

Anthony Cyntje has been accused of participating in a drug trafficking ring spanning the United States alongside Fetty as well as Robert and Anthony Leonardi. They’re alleged to have obtained over 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine from June 2019 through June 2020 on the West Coast, which was then transported across the country to distribute in Long Island and Jersey. Fetty has been identified as the alleged “kilogram-level redistributor for the trafficking organization.”

Last month, another individual in the case accepted a guilty plea. Robert Leonardi, the brother of corrections officer Anthony Leonardi, pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute and possession of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and cocaine base. He is facing between 10 years to life behind bars.
