Newsflash: Selena Gomez has just added ‘bridal influencer’ to her already long list of accolades that otherwise include singer, actress, producer and businesswoman. Not only has she ripped up the bridal rule book, she has set it on fire with a total smoke show of a makeup look that wouldn’t look out of place on the red carpet.
It goes without saying that Selena Gomez was always going to be a beautiful bride. But the behind-the-scenes pictures the actress has been teasing on the set of season three of her hit television series Only Murders in the Building confirmed just how stunning.
In candid shots shared on Instagram, Selena can be seen in a fairytale bridal gown, complete with embroidered lace veil and dainty white satin gloves. But what really set our pulses racing was her character Mabel’s wedding makeup.

Rather than opt for classic hushed nude shades, there are fierce pops of colour galore. We’re talking cherry red lips that fly in the face of conventional wisdom, where a bold lip is deemed a faux pas. Rather than classic petal pink blusher, her cheeks were contoured with bronzer. There was lashings of black mascara and an elongated chocolate smoky cat-eye framed by perfectly fluffed-up and filled-in arches.
In other words, this is wedding beauty reimagined with not a hint of beige anywhere to be seen.
Her side-parted hair, meanwhile, was pulled back into a loose chignon at the nape of her neck with a few face framing pieces left loose to ensure the look remained as whimsical as the white Dr Martens boots she paired with her dress.
Given the Hulu drama-comedy, which also stars Martin Short and Steve Martin, was the most-watched comedy series on the streaming platform during its 2021 premiere, expect this bridal beauty look to be everywhere on Pinterest boards. And just in time for this year’s spring and summer weddings.
