Selling Sunset’s Mary Fitzgerald: “There will be more drama this season than all the previous ones put together”

I have learned to zone out. I swear by my infrared sauna which helps me feel calm and I also have a punch bag that I can take my frustrations out on when someone upsets me. Also, my husband Romain is incredible and Amanza, Chrishell and Heather always help lift my spirits as they are not only my best friends but they are my family too.

Can you let us into any secrets of what we can expect on season 4?

There will be more drama this season than all the previous ones put together. You’ll see Christine ruffling more feathers than just mine. As for my role in the show, you’ll notice I’ve become a lot stronger. I was so used to trying avoid confrontation but in the new series am able to stand up for myself far better than before. 

The new girls in the brokerage add a great element to the show. One of them has had history with Christine in the past so that story is an interesting one to look out for. Season four does show a bit of Christine’s historic feud with Emma, as well as her fall-outs with literally everyone else who crosses her path.

And on the subject of the two new cast members, what are they like?

The girls are super gorgeous. Emma is an absolute sweetheart, she is very close to the girls as we have known her quite a few years and we love her. Vanessa is also divine, she is like a little Latino firecracker. 

When it comes to the property market, what changes have you seen since the onset of Covid-19?

Even during the pandemic the property market was booming. We were seeing up to 30 offers on one house selling, it was amazing. Eight figure listings were prominently featured on the first three seasons of the show, and there will likely be more to come.

As a female entrepreneur and business woman do you have any advice?

Women have not had it easy. Obviously in our business there is a lot of bitchiness and girls being catty but that happens all over the world. I believe in women supporting women, unlike other people I know. We need to help each other rise and not bring them down. We work as hard as the guys do and deserve the same rewards. 

My advice is to put your head down, work hard and you will achieve everything you deserve. Just don’t let others pull you down. What Christine did to me and the way I was treated made me hurt and confused and that is not healthy so stay focused, be kind and look after your friends. That is exactly why myself and the other girls are so tight, we work hard, we may bicker but at the end of the day we are like family.
