Shaakuntalam Movie: Star Cast 

South Indian diva and superstar Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the female lead role as Shakuntala. Alongside, Malayalam actor Dev Mohan is playing the role of Shaakuntala’s husband Dushyant in his Telugu debut.

Surprisingly, Allu Arha daughter of Telugu superstar Allu Arjun plays the role of Prince Bharata, the son of Shakuntala and King Dushyant. 

In supporting roles, Mohan Babu a veteran star, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, legendary Prakash Raj, Madhoo, Kabir Bedi, Kabir Dahan Singh, and Gautami play pivotal roles. 

Shaakuntalam Movie: Makers 

The project was announced by National Film Award-winning director Gunasekhar of “Okkadu”, “Manoharam” and “Rudhramadevi” fame in October 2020. The film’s production began in February 2021 at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad and ended in August 2021.

The film was extensively shot around Hyderabad, including Ramoji Film City, Ananthagiri Hills, and Gandipet Lake.

Shaakuntalam Movie: About the Film 

Shaakuntalam is a beautiful tale of Shakuntala and the great king of ancient India King Dushyanta, the king of Hastinapur, and the ancestor of the Kuru Dynasty. This epic love story is told in the Adi Parva of the ancient Indian Hindu epic Mahabharata.

It was dramatized by many writers, but the most famous adaptation is Maharishi Kalidasa’s play Abhigyanashakuntalam.
