Taapsee Pannu plays Mithali Raj, the former captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, in Shabaash Mithu. The biopic received favorable reviews at its initial release. However, the reviews did not entice audiences to the theatres. The film’s dry run continues after a poor release on July 15. Shabaash Mithu barely generated any numbers on Day 6.

Taapsee Pannu had to go through rigorous training to look at the part in the film. She gives an outstanding performance as Mithali. Taapsee revealed in a prior interview that she used Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De to push herself throughout the shoot for Shabaash Mithu.
Priya Aven wrote the screenplay for Shabaash Mithu, which was directed by Srijit Mukherji. The biopic is a coming-of-age story of women’s cricket in India seen through Mithali’s eyes.
