In an interview released by the official Youtube channel of ‘Suno News HD’ in April, the speedster had admitted that it was he who wanted to marry Ansha, the second-born daughter of former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi.
Shaheen revealed that his brother was friends with Afridi and it was his mother who went ahead with the proposal after he expressed his desire to marry Ansha Afridi.
“It was my marriage so obviously, it was me who thought about marrying her. Lala and my brother have been friends for a very long time, and our elders know each other too. So, my mother went ahead with the rishta (proposal) and the families agreed,” Shaheen had said.

During the course of the same interview, the 23-year-old said that he did not specifically had a formal date with Anshal but just used to see her around when she used to visit his house with her family,
“There wasn’t a proper first meet-up as such. We used to go to each other’s houses. Whenever they’d come to our house, I’d see her around and then we met at our Nikkah,” he said, adding that Ansha is a fan of Shaheen’s bowling but often asks him to bat as well on the ground.
The Khyber Agency-born cricketer had also revealed that Ansha is a fan of her bowling but also wants him to bat as well.
“They say that you should always have a life partner that appreciates you and thank God I have that. She doesn’t get involved much but has always supported me,” he had said.

Who is Shaheen Afridi’s wife Ansha?
As per reports, Ansha is a medical student in the UK. She got engaged to Shaheen Shah Afridi in 2021 before marrying the star cricketer on February 3, 2023. The wedding was attended by Pakistan cricketers including captain Babar Azam and Shadab Khan.
Ansha was born on December 6, 2000 in Peshawar according to multiple sources. Karachi, the largest city of Pakistan, is her hometown.
Ansha Afridi has four daughters. They are named Aqsa Afridi, Ajwa Afridi, Arwa Afridi and Asmara Afridi. There is a lot of love between the five sisters.
“The best quality about her is how much she loves her parents and her sisters; which is very rare nowadays. Mobile phones have created a distance, a wall between families and we rarely see kids talking to their parents,” Shaheen had told Suno News.
