After a fallow couple of concert years due to COVID-19 — this past summer excepted — 2023 is looking pretty A-list when it comes to major tours.

Among those set to be hitting the road in the new year with Canadian dates still pending (as of the second week of December), are no less than pop queen Taylor Swift, veteran rockers Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and critical fave Peter Gabriel.

Also rumoured to be touring in 2023 are R&B queens Beyonce and Rihanna, and veteran synth-pop act Eurythmics, the latter after a triumphant reunion performance during their 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.

Heavy metal heavyweights Metallica has announced 2023 Canadian tour dates, but sadly not in T.O., stopping instead at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium (Aug. 11 and 13).

Veteran British synth-pop act Depeche Mode have already announced their first trek without member Andy Fletcher, who died earlier this year, with a Toronto stop on April 7 at Scotiabank Arena.

R&B pop star Janet Jackson with Ludracris opening, will hit T.O.’s Budweiser Stage on May 23 for her first road trip in four years. One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson plays a solo show at the same outdoor venue on May 30.

Canada’s country music queen Shania Twain has no fewer than three Toronto dates in 2023 on June 23-24 at Budweiser Stage, with a return to the larger Scotiabank Arena on Oct. 22.

British pop king Ed Sheeran will play a pair of stadium shows on June 17-18 at Rogers Centre, while pop belter Pink will open her biggest stadium tour yet there on July 24, with the equally talented Brandi Carlile opening.
