As the crowd cheered, the Canadian country star praised the Leafs’ right winger as “a huge hero — a huge Canadian hero” before inviting him up to the stage.

“Mitch said: ‘My fiancee is your No. 1 fan. When she was young, she used to make up dances to all your songs. This is a big surprise for her tonight and I’m hoping she remembers some of the moves.’
“I can’t wait,” Twain continued. “Her name is Stephanie. So Mitch … get up here with Stephanie.”
LaChance didn’t know she’d be called to the stage, and Twain said the moment was “going to be fun.”
“He’s putting her on the spot. This is going to be a surprise.”
The Man! I Feel Like A Woman! hitmaker and Marner, 26, took turns bowing to one another, before Twain started singing the NHL All Star’s praises.
“This is so amazing. Canada has so much talent and it’s such an honour to have you up here, Mitch,” she began. “You’re such a philanthropist; you do so much for charity. You’re just a really amazing representative for Canada, and when I go around the world telling [people] how amazing Canadians are, Mitch represents that.”

Before Twain broke into her hit Up!, Marner got a bout of cold feet. “I don’t know if I can dance too well,” he said with a sheepish grin.
Twain pointed at LaChance: “Show him the moves. I’ll sing it.”
But once the multiple Juno and Grammy-winner started belting the lyrics from the 2002 song, Marner quickly found his footing as the cowboy-boot wearing LaChance led the pair in a choreographed routine.
On social media, fans called Marner a “class act” for running a contest in support of his Marner Assist Foundation and Twain’s Shania Kids Can in which one lucky winner got to meet both him and Twain before the show.

“Mitch Marner is a good dude, period. Well done here,” one fan said, praising the Leaf for his charitable initiative and surprising his fiancee.
“This is why we love Mitch Marner,” another added.
Marner later posted a photo of him and LaChance posing with Twain from the stage, which one fan called an “iconic selfie.”
Marner and LaChance are set to be married next month.
Elsewhere during her show, Twain helped a fan reveal the gender of her baby in another moment that quickly went viral.

“There’s nothing more special than sharing moments like this on stage with my fans!” Twain wrote in an Instagram message sharing a video of the moment she revealed her fan is expecting a baby girl. “This was was my first gender reveal and I feel so privileged to have been a part of this family’s story.”
The soon-to-be mom responded: “Thank you so much Shania! You truly made this moment even more special for me and my family. The next generation fan is on her way.”
“Such a precious moment for the mom-to-be,” one fan wrote of the big reveal. “Imagine her daughter years from now watching this video of a generous and loving superstar welcome her into the world before her actual birth. Sweetness.”
Twain’s current Queen of Me tour returns to Toronto this October for a show at Scotiabank Arena.
