Shannon Sharpe has been one of the Ja Morant’s most vocal critics as the Memphis Grizzlies star deals with a slew of inappropriate off-the-court behaviors. So it was only a matter of time before he responded to today’s news.
On Friday, the NBA suspended Morant for 25 games in the wake of his recent antics which most notably included flashing a gun on an Instagram Live video.
Taking to Twitter, Sharpe expressed hope that Morant gets the help he needs and that the suspension only proves to be a “temporary setback” for a potential comeback. He said that Morant has more people praying and pulling for him than he knows.
“Hopefully Ja is getting the help he needs and the 25 gm suspension levied by commissioner Silver will be temporary setback for an all time gr8 comeback. More ppl are praying and pulling for Ja than he knows,” Sharpe tweeted.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver has made it pretty clear that the conduct he’s seen from Ja Morant is unacceptable and has set out to make an example of him.
It’s now up to Morant to decide whether to use this moment to conform to what the NBA wants or continue earning the disdain of so many people who have wanted to see him succeed.
