There have been many Los Angeles Lakers greats that earned statues outside the arena.
Like Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Jerry West, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. But does LeBron James deserve one?
Since signing with Lakers in 2018, James helped the Lakers capture the NBA championship in 2020 when games took place in the bubble because of the covid outbreak.
James also led the seventh-seeded Lakers to the Western Conference Finals this season where the eventual NBA Champions Denver Nuggets swept them.
While chatting with Bally Sports, O’Neal offered his take on why James deserves a statue among Lakers greats.
“If they wanted to give him a statue, I’d be fine with that… But, Laker fans are real greedy, Okay you got us this bubble championship, but when are you going to give us another? It’s always that.”
