Sharjah Police launches ‘Yes to Sports… No to Drugs’ awareness campaign

SHARJAH, 9th November, 2022 (WAM) — The Sharjah Police, represented by the Anti-Narcotics Department, the Sports Activities Department at the Media and Public Relations Department, and the Community Police Department, launched a sports awareness campaign themed “Yes to Sports .. No to Drugs”.

The six-month campaign targets the emerging generations represented by secondary school students in the schools of the Emirate of Sharjah.

The campaign aims to increase awareness of the dangers of drug abuse and addiction, and how to make optimal use of leisure time.

Lt. Colonel Majed Al Asam, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Sharjah Police, stressed that the campaign will focus on the youth category, as they are the future generation and one of the most important pillars in the process of development and community leadership.

He added that the drug issue is a societal responsibility, and it is our duty to protect the community from this scourge, highlighting the importance of harnessing all means of communication, to enhance youth awareness of the dangers of drugs through workshops and various sports activities.
