This year’s edition of the Discovery Channel event sees Jason Mamoa as the host, introducing Shark Week programs and shark researchers every night.

How to Watch Shark Week Online: Live Streaming Guide

Shark Week is airing on Discovery Channel, but cord-cutters can still watch the beloved event online with any live TV streaming service that carries Discovery. One such live TV streaming service is Sling, which will let you live stream the Shark Week 2023 programs online using your streaming devices, smart TV, laptop, tablet, or phone.

To watch Shark Week on Sling, you’ll need to get the service’s Blue package. This package carries 42 channels, including Discovery, live local channels (in select markets), and other popular channels. You also get 50 hours of cloud DVR storage (use that to record Shark Week content that you can’t catch live), and you can stream on three devices at once.

Sling Blue normally costs $45 a month, but right now sling is offering new customers 50% off their first month. This brings your first payment down to just $22.50 — grab that deal here.

Better yet: Sling is also offering a seven-day free trial of Discovery+ right now, coinciding with Shark Week.

Shark Week 2023 Schedule, Host

As mentioned, Jason Mamoa is helming the ship into sharky waters this year, guiding viewers through the whole slate of Shark Week content. “As the host of Shark Week, I am beyond excited to take you along on this journey,” said the Aquaman actor in a statement. “This project means more to me than a week of talking about sharks. It’s a chance for me to learn and share my connection to these amazing creatures.”

Although Mamoa’s selection for Shark Week might seem like a mere nod to his role as Aquaman, it’s deeper than that: In college, the Fast X actor studied marine and wildlife biology.
