Sheikh Jassim has reportedly assembled a ‘management team’ in case he succeeds in his efforts to buy Manchester United. The Qatari billionaire is refusing to accept defeat amid his takeover fight with Sir Jim Ratcliffe. And it’s possible he’ll trust those who attended talks at Old Trafford if he ends up ousting the Glazers and securing power at the club…
Back in March, a delegation acting on behalf of Sheikh Jassim travelled to Manchester for talks with regards to a potential takeover.
And with ESPN claiming the Qatari billionaire has put a strike force together, it’s possible the same individuals who attended will be involved in the operation going forward.
The delegation that visited Manchester was spearheaded by Shazhad Shahbaz, who is president of the Nine Two Foundation.
Described as a ‘serious player’, he previously has experience in international banking, investments and capital markets.
He also spent 25 years at the Bank of America, too.

And if Sheikh Jassim manages to win his battle with Ratcliffe, it’s possible Shahbaz will be entrusted with the task of growing United’s brand even further.
Advisor to the mysterious figure, Fady Bathos, was present too.
And Bank of America workers Sam Powers and Yasir Shah also made the trip as they sought positive talks with the club.
Ratcliffe seems to be leading the race to buy United, with the INEOS chief hopeful of owning a Premier League team having previously missed out on Chelsea.
But Sheikh Jassim is determined to push his rival all the way, amid suggestions he could yet make a fifth bid for the club.
But while Sir Alex Ferguson initially kept the trophies coming, the club has regressed alarmingly following the Scot’s retirement a decade ago.
Speaking after United lost to City over the weekend, Ten Hag was also asked about a potential takeover.
And he revealed he was willing to fight with everything he has in order to make sure the club are successful again.
“I have only one plan: that is to improve this club and to improve this team,” he said.
“I will fight for [it]. I have my ideas and I already told the club what we have to do for that.
“But I have to work with my staff, with my players to be better next season.
“I think in this moment, I don’t want to discuss [the possible takeover]. It’s about finalising the season.
“We have to be quiet, analysing the season, going to the depth, set the right conclusions, and then take action, it’s about that.
“The process, during the season, we are continually making considerations, are actions into process. But now the season is finished, the conclusion overall is we played a brilliant season.
“It’s not about the gap in the summer, it’s not about getting players in and they do well. It’s about we work all season and day by day to develop the team, progress the team.
“I’m very proud where we came from in the start of the season. Remember Brentford and the Etihad (when United were thrashed 4-0 and 6-3) also. Now, we showed today against City the home win was not a coincidence and, on another day, we could win this game.”
