NEW DELHI: Seasoned batter Sheldon Jackson rose to the occasion with an unbeaten 133 as Saurashtra beat Maharashtra by five wickets in the final to win their second Vijay Hazare Trophy title at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday.
Put into bat, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad powered Maharashtra to 248 for 9 in 50 overs, scoring his third consecutive hundred (108 off 131 balls) in the process.

Saurashtra pacer Chirag Jani (3/43) claimed a fine hat-trick to break Maharashtra’s back towards the end of the innings and restricted them under 250.
Saurashtra reached the target in 46.3 overs with Jackson scoring his runs off 136 balls with the help of 12 fours and five sixes.
