The cricketer had filed a plea in the court in which the cricketer claimed that Mukerji – an Australian national – has threatened to ruin his career.
Aesha Mukerji threatened Shikhar Dhawan?
The cited an incident from the past where his estranged wife circulated defamatory messages to Dheeraj Malhotra who is the owner of Delhi Capitals’ – Shikhar Dhawan’s previous IPL franchise. The cricketer’s advocate claimed it was an attempt to tarnish his client’s reputation and his career.
Dhawan and Mukerji – who have a son – got separated in September last year after being married for eight years. Mukerji broke the news on social media about getting divorced from the left-handed top-order batter from Delhi.
After changing her name from Aesha Dhawan to Aesha Mukerji, she confirmed the news of their divorce in an emotional post on social media.
While the reason for their divorce was not revealed but looking at the latest spate of events, it seems the couple separated on a bitter note.
Delhi Court restrains Aesha Mukerji
Delhi’s Patila House Family Court, meanwhile, ordered Aesha Mukerji not to post anything defamatory against her former husband, Dhawan, on social media.
The court has, however, asked her to take the legal route if she has any ‘real’ grievances and reach out to the authorities.

In his order, Judge Harish Kumar said, “She can certainly be restrained from sharing her grievance against him (Dhawan) with her friends, relatives, peers of parties as well as from making it public even before approaching the appropriate authority.”
“In these circumstances, she is hereby restrained till further order from circulating any of her grievances against Dhawan or her version of the dispute involved herein or the alleged defamatory and false material against him in social media, print media or to any other forum or to friends, relatives or colleagues of the parties,” the judge stated.
Shikhar Dhawan not going through the best of times professionally
On the professional front, Dhawan isn’t going through the best of times as he’s no more a part of the Indian side. The left-handed batter was dropped from the ODI squad after the Bangladesh tour, where he scored 7, 8 and 3 runs in three matches.
With Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill making the occasions count with their performances, the senior batter’s chances of an India comeback look bleak.
