Recently, the couple wasn’t spotted together during Eid festivities which once again gave fodder to the ever-increasing rumours of their rift. Shoaib Malik wished his followers on Eid 2023 but the images of celebrating the festival with his family were missing, which triggered the speculations.

Sania didn’t share any posts related to Eid on her Instagram handle but it’s been a long time since the Hyderabadi tennis great shared an image with her husband. She often shares pictures with her son Izhaan.

The former Pakistan skipper was recently asked about the status of his marriage with Sania and if the rumour of divorce is actually true.

While responding to a Geo News Programe ‘Score’, Malik denied the rumours of divorce and claimed that he couldn’t celebrate Eid with his wife due to professional commitments.

Shoaib – who has retired from international cricket – appears on TV channels as part of the expert panel. While Sania, who retired from tennis earlier this year, is busy with her work in India.

Sania – who was appointed the mentor of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) women ahead of Women’s Premier League (WPL) – is busy with the ongoing IPL 2023 for the RCB franchise.

Malik was quoted as saying about the rumours of divorce with Sania, “Nothing on it. On Eid I would like to say that had we been together it would have been great. But she has got commitments in IPL. She is doing shows in IPL. That’s why we are not together.

The former Pakistan all-rounder went on to claim that the couple still shares a lot of love and he misses his wife a lot but it is all because of work they couldn’t be spotted together these days.

Malik added, “We share love like always. I miss her a lot, that I can say. There are (professional) commitments. But Eid is a day when you miss a lot of the people who are close to you. This is why neither I released a statement nor did she.”

However, in the past people close to the couple claimed that Sania and Shoaib – who got married in 2010 – are divorced and hence they are living separately. However, the official announcement hasn’t been by either party.
