Over the last few days, they have been sharing their time with some well-framed snaps. But in a recent snap in the yacht, fans have noticed an unusual thing.
In one of the vacation pictures posted on Instagram captioned: ‘Vacation mood’, Cristiano Ronaldo has seen his toenails painted black which caused a bit of a stir on social media.
It had some fans in the comments questioning the five-time Ballon d’Or winner why he had painted his toenails in black varnish.
In general, the audience may be in puzzle why the Portuguese superstar would do that. However, it’s not for fashion but rather for health reasons. There is actually a scientific reason behind the choice.
Painting your toenails as a professional athlete is said to help prevent infections and other terrible foot-related problems.
It is also said to help athletes in preventing their toenails from breaking or splitting by hardening the nails with a layer of polish.
Also, this is pretty common in other sports as well, especially in MMA or combat sports. UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski reportedly does the same during competitions while Boxing legend Mike Tyson has also been seen doing the same.
Ronaldo has been very precise in maintaining his health with every bit. The 38-year-old is one of the fittest athletes in the world and his way of enforcing such things for the betterment of his health is definitely not unexpected.
