Shop These New Icons of Style Collections Designed by Black Women

The fashion industry has a problem. Due to historical prejudices, it hasn’t given Black designers and creators the access, platforms, or shine they’ve long deserved. But Macy’s has a plan to address that. Starting with its own Icons of Style program, the national retail outlet is working to fund and stock more Black designers since 2021.

For Icons of Style 2022, Macy’s tapped GoodGoo Atkins, Areeayl Yoseefaw Goodwin, Ade Samuel, Jerome LaMarr, Mathew Harris of MATEO, and Stella & Blaise to design collaborative capsule collections for its INC, Bar III, And Now This, and Epic Threads lines. With the first three collections dropping earlier this week, we’ve spotlighted a few of our favorite pieces from GooGoo for Bar III, HOME by Areeayl for INC, and Ade Samuel x INC below. Scroll through to check them out and then head to macys.com and treat yourself or someone you love to something stylish.
