Sikandar Kher will next be seen in the MX Player web series titled Chidiya Udd. Produced by Harman Baweja and Vicky Bahri, the crime-based show will see the actor essay the role of a criminal. It is now learnt that Sikandar’s character in the web series might be based on a real-life gangster from Kamathipura. For the unversed, Kamathipura is a red-light area in south Mumbai.
Sikandar Kher’s character from Chidiya Udd based on real gangster from Kamathipura?
As per an insider, “Kamathipura is infamous for tough bouncers, who are known for being rough. Sikandar’s character is sort of inspired by someone who lives there and has a criminal background. There has been a lot of discussion about the real person, like his mannerisms, the way he talks or the way he thinks. Since the inspiration for the character is a real person, the team is not naming him.”
Chidiya Udd will see Sikandar team up with Jackie Shroff for the second time. The first time they starred together was in director Robby Grewal’s John Abraham starrer spy movie Romeo Akbar Walter. The show also stars Slumdog Millionaire actor Madhur Mittal, Ravi Kothari, Gopal K Singh, and Dheeraj Dev.
Chidiya Udd is directed by the well-known Marathi filmmaker Ravi Jadhav. This will be his second Hindi project after the Riteish Deshmukh starrer Banjo and first Hindi web series.
