The Philadelphia 76ers are confident that Joel Embiid wants to win with them, despite his comments from Monday.
During an interview, Embiid said that he wants to win a championship, whether that’s with the 76ers or another team.
“I just want to win a championship. Whatever it takes,” Embiid said, via ESPN. “I don’t know where that’s gonna be, whether it’s in Philly or anywhere else, I just want to have a chance to accomplish that.”
76ers President Daryl Morey saw those comments and didn’t think much of them since he and head coach Nick Nurse both think that Embiid is all-in with the team.
“He had some fun with that yesterday. That was a very Joel day,” Morey said.
