Earlier this morning Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant had the sporting world very concerned.
Morant posted a series of photos to his Instagram story that showed share his mother, father and daughter, along with messages that he loved them. A final photo contained the message “bye,” which was the truly concerning part.
Sports media personality Skip Bayless was among those concerned by the message from the NBA superstar.
“When I first saw this earlier this morning, it stopped me in my tracks,” Bayless said. “Because — to your point [co-host Shannon Sharpe] — we take this very seriously. Was this a cry for help? I don’t know for sure, but it felt like it. In the context of what’s happening, it certainly could be.”

Morant was indefinitely suspended from the Grizzlies after a video surfaced with him flashing a gun – something he got suspended for just two months prior.
Bayless believe Morant can turn his life around, but he has to stay committed.
“I’m gonna say it one more time: there’s good in this kid. There’s good,” he said. “He turned his game around and won Most Improved Player. You can also then say, ‘Can you turn your life back around?’ Sure, you could. But you gotta commit.”
Hopefully Morant finds what he needs away from the basketball court to ensure his mental health and well-being.
