Mandurah Magic men’s team have lost to the South West Slammers in Thursday’s round two clash, 73 to 81.
It was a rough opening season for both teams as the Geraldton Buccaneers defeated the Slammers by 61 points and Magic were hit with a disappointing 45-point loss to the Goldfield Giants at last Saturday’s games.
The Slammers went on to secure their first win of the season on Thursday against the Magic at the Eaton Recreation Centre.
In the first quarter, the Slammers hit 16 points to 12 and did just enough the rest of the night to get the win.
The Slammers secured the eight-point win despite going 5/28 from three-point land with Buay Tuach the star with 27 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
Dequan Abrom top-scored for Mandurah with 28 points with Byron Pearson adding 21 points and seven rebounds.
Former captain and 159-game veteran Clive Weeden made his return, too, with 12 points and nine rebounds with Okummu Dech contributing 12 points, three assists and three steals.
Mandurah Magic will face the East Perth Eagles for round three at Mandurah Aquatic Centre on April 16.
