Monyka Beeson, 27, and Ian Austin, 29
If you have ever wondered what the perfect antithesis of a bridezilla looks like, it is Monyka Beeson.
A far cry from the lucrative details brides often obsess over on their special day, Monyka made her own bridal gown and paired it with hiking boots — a practical choice for her rustic bush wedding.
Sausages were dished up for dinner and with the help of family, the table decorations, arbour, favours and even the wedding cake were DIY.
The result was a charming, laid-back and fun-filled wedding for the young couple and their loved ones.
When and where
The couple exchanged vows at Timbarra, Nanga Bush Camp in the Peel region on March 12, 2022.
Dress
Armed with silk dupion fabric and a Vogue pattern, Monyka set about creating an elegant gown for her special day the same way her mother had for her own wedding day.
“While I have always loved sewing as a hobby, I don’t consider myself a pro, so it was a fun challenge,” she says.
Honeymoon
The newlyweds stayed in Metricup near Margaret River and explored the region with mountain biking, cave tours and swimming. Not tied to an itinerary, the pair travelled through Dunsborough, Busselton, Augusta and Yallingup.
