The Prime Minister has opened his doors to the public in Sydney, hosting an open day at Kirribilli House.
People were invited to have a look around the grounds and gardens of the official Sydney residence for the leader of Australia on Saturday.
“While Kirribilli House is the Prime Minister’s official residence in Sydney, the Australian people are its true custodians,” Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said.
“Since 1957, Kirribilli House has been a Commonwealth property for special occasions and official purposes, including as an official residence.
“Countless international dignitaries have visited for bilateral talks and official events.”
Thousands of people visited the historical grounds on Saturday, with many opting to bring a picnic while enjoying views of Sydney Harbour.
Many enjoyed the sunshine as they took in the historic site after the city was blanketed in fog on early Saturday morning, causing many delays on public transport and at the airport.
But once the fog lifted, Sydney Harbour was on full display and enjoyed by those who checked out Kirribilli House.
