A snooker referee could not hide his hilarious reaction after a simple frame-winning pot was somehow missed in the Scottish Open qualifiers.
Chinese star Wu Yize, 18, looked to have stolen the first frame of his best-of-seven encounter with former World Championship semi-finalist Anthony McGill. Wu needed a regulation black to clear up and draw first blood – but somehow found the jaws of the pocket – leaving the frame at McGill’s mercy.
The miss would have no doubt stunned McGill, but the most notable reaction came from the referee, whose reaction has been shared on social media.

As teenage talent Wu showed his frustration at his woes, the shocked referee onlooking stared at him in apparent awe, much to the joy of snooker fans on social media.
“Ref’s in shredsville’,” one fan commented. “That was my exact face too,” another added.
The missed pot proved to be crucial in the outcome of the match as McGill stormed to a 4-1 victory, despite a century break from Wu.
McGill and the rest of the world’s top stars will compete in the main Scottish Open event when the tournament gets underway in Edinburgh in November.

Ronnie O’Sullivan defeated home favourite Marco Fu 6-4 in the final in front of a huge 9,000 crowd at the jaw-dropping Hong Kong Coliseum.

The Coliseum was packed out across the four-day event as the game’s elite stars were welcomed back to Asia for the first time since the pandemic. And seven-time world champion O’Sullivan proved his status as the greatest ever by claiming the £100,000 first prize.
The Rocket later claimed that the gravitas of the event has ‘changed snooker’, stating that it was the favourite tournament he has ever played in.
