Snooker star Jack Lisowski was almost left red-faced as he narrowly avoided disaster during a live TV interview.
Lisowski is through to the Snooker Shoot Out finals day – but almost jeopardised his chances by dropping his cue off a balcony ledge.
‘Jackpot’ had climbed up to the Eurosport broadcasting booth after beating UK champion Mark Allen in a one-frame showdown.
But as he was discussing his second round win, Lisowski’s cue slipped from his grasp and he was suddenly panicking, saying “Oh my god”.
Fortunately for Lisowski, his cue did not fall to the floor and instead somehow rested on the stairs just above his feet, much to the amusement of the 31-year-old and the Eurosport punditry panel.

“You need that Jack!” 12 times women’s world champion Reanne Evans remarked. Lisowski jokingly responded: “Is that where I’m supposed to rest my cue? You guys have got it all at Eurosport, fair play to you!”
Presenter Rachel Casey was in hysterics and covered her face in shock as snooker legend Jimmy White asked “what is going on?”

Jubilant Lisowski could laugh off the scary moment and was in good spirits ahead of the tournament’s final day.
The exciting left-hander is in the last 32 against veteran Mark Davies on Saturday afternoon and is one of the favourites to claim his first ranking title, needing to win just five 10 minute frames to seal glory.
Lisowski is one of the higher-ranked players left the draw, but the frenzied Shoot Out is effectively a lottery with all players still standing now in with a chance of grabbing the £50,000 prize.
The Shootout, however, remains the only pro event with a shot clock and world no.12 Lisowski believes the concept should be introduced to more tournaments to reduce ‘gamesmanship’ in the sport.
“The game could do with a shot clock because you don’t need more than 20-odd seconds a shot to think about anything,” he told Metro.co.uk.
“Longer than that and you’re walking round the table looking at the same thing again and again.
“For me, make some tournaments have a shot clock and maybe there’d be less gamesmanship when some players try to upset your rhythm.”
