Some Manchester United players think Mason Greenwood should be given a chance to play at Old Trafford again, according to reports. The England international hasn’t played for the club since January 2022. And his long-term future currently remains uncertain.
Manchester United have refused to rule out Greenwood returning, with the club currently conducting their own investigation behind the scenes.
It emerged earlier in the week the 21-year-old was eager to return to the fold with the Red Devils, though staff are described as ‘split’ on the matter.
Now, journalist Graeme Bailey has claimed some United players think Greenwood should be allowed to return.
“It is believed members of Manchester United’s hierarchy are refusing to rule out a return for the England international,” he told TeamTalk.
“Nobody at the club is expecting Greenwood to return to training this season, but thereafter he could yet have a future.

But the Red Devils have rejected their advances while they conduct their investigation behind the scenes.
Greenwood made his debut for United back in 2019, coming off the bench in a Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain.
He’s scored 35 goals for the club since then, shining under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.
Regardless of what happens, United want to sign a new striker when the transfer window reopens this summer.
Tottenham forward Harry Kane is one player in their sights, with the England international’s deal in north London due to expire in 2024.

And Napoli star Victor Osimhen also has his admirers at the club, too, amid his sensational performances in Serie A this term.
Erik ten Hag has been coy when quizzed on Greenwood in recent times, insisting he can’t add anything to the club’s statement about their own investigation.
“No. Nothing. I can’t add nothing, I refer to the statement of the club,” the 53-year-old said.
Last month, he added: “We are human beings and sometimes there are issues. We are not like robots, but we have to focus on our job.
“Sometimes you get issues, then as a club and team you have to deal with it.
“We have standards and values and we have to live along those high standards and values, and that gives a base if you have a good culture and spirit.”
Greenwood himself, meanwhile, thanked his family and friends for their support during the process.
“I am relieved that this matter is now over and I would like to thank my family, loved ones and friends for their support,” he said.
“There will be no further comment at this time.”
