Recently, a 48-year-old boudoir photographer named Lois Elaine Lauthern used AI technology (and some Photoshop) to imagine what dead celebrities would look like as older people, and the stunning results have gone viral (being shared over 42,000 times).

Lois told BuzzFeed, “I’m a little obsessed with Marilyn Monroe and intended to just make her portrait because we all deserve to see what she would’ve looked like as an older woman. I loved the results, so I just kept going with other people I love who passed too early.”

The AI technology process for Lois was difficult at times, but ultimately satisfying once she used Photoshop. “Sometimes AI gets it right pretty quickly, and sometimes I have to re-roll it dozens of times to get something I can adjust a bit in Photoshop to look more like the celebs. AI has a problem with human hands for some reason, so I fix them there. I’m pretty decent at Photoshop, since I use it daily for my regular job.”

And the reactions to her portraits of deceased famous celebs as older people? Simply the best! “This was for my own satisfaction, but the number of shares it has blows my mind,” Lois said. “I’ve gotten tons of DMs from people asking me to do celebrities I left out, or letting me know how happy it made them to see someone they admired as an older person since we’ve been robbed of that pleasure.”

And now here are the rest of Lois’s incredible portraits used with AI technology to imagine dead celebrities as older people:
