Like father, like son.
Erick Dampier played 16 years in the NBA as a massive 6-foot-11, 265-pound centre after being the 10th overall pick of the star-studded 1996 NBA draft.
Dampier battled against fellow giants like Shaquille O’Neal, Yao Ming and Tim Duncan, but his son has it a bit easier.

Erick Dampier Jr. stands 6-foot-5. No surprise really, considering who his father is. But the fact that the younger Dampier is only in the sixth grade is the reason he’s now going viral running around tiny kids on the court while dominating.

Dampier Jr. had 24 points, 21 rebounds and three blocks in one half of the game.
The Mississippi Play Sports League, via news.com.au, said Dampier Jr. usually plays up with eighth-graders in spring and summer because it’s more competitive — but his parents allow him to play winter league against kids his own age in order to work on his ball-handling and decision making so he will be a more all-around player.
Today’s NBA is far different than it was when Dampier Sr. played, so big men need to be able to do more than just score in the post and rebound.
