Ray Allen III, the son of Hall of Famer and former NBA sharpshooter Ray Allen, has apparently decided where he’ll play college basketball next season.
Allen’s son is committing to Rhode Island, according to radio analyst Chris DiSano.
DiSano said Allen will join Rhode Island as a walk-on. He checked out the program and its facility earlier this year.
“Hearing Ray Allen III is expected to join @RhodyMBB as a preferred walk on in the fall,” DiSano said. “He and Dad were at a Ryan Center game back in February. Looking fwd to seeing him in Kingston.”
If this is true, Allen’s son will get to play for assistant coach Duane Woodward. He played for Boston College from 1994-98 while Allen was shining at UConn.

Allen’s son is an unranked recruit at the moment. Nonetheless, he received a scholarship offer from UMass.
Time will tell if Allen III can develop his game and make the NBA like his father.
