Ji-sung Park is in no doubt Son Heung-min would be a hit at Manchester United, but joked his compatriot wouldn’t get the No.7 shirt in a hurry with Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford.
Park made his name as one of the most successful ever Asian players to grace the game during his time at United.
The South Korean collected four Premier League titles and a Champions League triumph during his time at Old Trafford.
Son, however, has yet to win silverware in England but he’s been a huge hit in N17, hitting 114 goals in 299 appearances for the Lilywhites since his move from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015.
And Park has declared his admiration for his compatriot for plying his trade in the Premier League just as he did, though Spurs fans will not appreciate him tipping the player to join his former club.
“He has already proved himself in the Premier League and I believe he’s good enough to do very well at United,” he said in an exclusive interview with GOAL.
“The only minor issue would be he may not get his favourite No.7 shirt as Ronaldo is already there!
“But if I had to pick someone other than Son, I would say either Hwang Hee-chan from Wolves or Mallorca’s Lee Kang-in, who both have good potential as players.”
Son has been on great form this term, hitting seven goals as Antonio Conte’s side sit fifth in the Premier League after 14 games played.
If he was to move to United, though, he’d come at a pretty penny.
The 29-year-old signed a new long-term contract with Spurs last summer, keeping him at the club until 2025.
