And while we can’t stop this canon event from happening, we can try to mentally prepare ourselves for the end alongside Spider-Gwen and our other favorite Spideys as they team up together for one last wild ride. With so much on the line, including some messed up timelines, it’s anyone’s guess what will happen next. So don’t forget your mask, because only the ultimate Spidey fans can find out what’s to come.

Here’s everything we know about Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

The Spider-Verse is coming to an end?!

Sort of-ish! The answer is a lot more complicated because there’s a lot still planned, including an all-female Spidey sequel led by Spider-Gwen. However, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is set to be the final movie in the Miles Morales trilogy. Does this mean we’re saying goodbye to him forever? With more to come, here’s hoping it’s not. Is there more in the works?

While we’ve been all heading to our local theaters to watch Across the Spider-Verse, Sony Pictures Animation announced a brand new short film at the 2023 Annecy Festival. While a release date hasn’t been revealed, the film is set to follow Miles as he experiences a panic attack. According to Deadline, the short also features some easter eggs that fans will get to discover when they watch.

What will Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse be about?

With that giant cliffhanger ending, it’s likely that the third film will jump right after everything happened. Earth-1610 Miles Morales was accidentally sent to Earth-42 (where the spider who bit him originally was from) and now he’s face-to-face with another version of himself who took up the Panther mantle.

Miles still has to go back to Earth-1610 to stop his dad from dying AKA a canon event in his life that Miguel will do anything to make sure Miles doesn’t stop. Meanwhile, Spider-Gwen has wrangled a new group of Spideys in the hopes of saving Miles and his father before it’s too late. Then there’s Spot, who is also out to get Miles in revenge for throwing that bagel at him and changing his life. With his new ability to travel across the multiverse, everything and everyone is in danger.

When will Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse be released?

Right now, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is set to come out on March 29, 2024. Whether the project will be affected by the Writers Guild Strike is left to be seen, but here’s hoping we won’t be waiting too long to find out what happens next.
