Did WNBA legend Sue Bird have arguably the greatest career in the history of sports?
That’s what Megan Rapinoe argued on Sunday.
Rapinoe, of course, is quite biased, as she’s been with Bird for more than five years. But Bird’s resume is still quite impressive, winning championships at UConn, in the WNBA, overseas and in the Summer Olympics.
“Congratulations on like, arguably the best career that anyone has ever had in the history of any sport ever.”

Unsurprisingly, the claim has gone viral.
“Genuinely one of the most insane statements I’ve ever heard,” one fan wrote.
“She is talking about her FIANCÉ, if you’re mad about this go outside please,” one fan added.
“Nope. Sorry Sue. Same amount of rings. Less time in the league. Better career stats. 5x WNBA 1st team.. just like Sue. Sue played 20 years. Maya just 7. Maya got a Finals MVP + season MVP + scoring leader + ROTY. Sue don’t. Sue wasn’t even the best in her league,” one fan added.
Sue Bird has one of the greatest resumés in the history of the sport.
We’re not going to go around and act like that’s not the case because you don’t know what you’re talking about. https://t.co/jzT0166g0I pic.twitter.com/oKthpXf62K
