
In an effort to celebrate Women’s History Month, ESPN will reportedly air a special, all-woman crew for Wednesday’s Mavericks-Pelicans broadcast.
According to Front Office Sports, the game will feature the likes of:
- Doris Burke
- Beth Mowins
- Malika Andrews
- Cassidy Hubbarth
- Ramona Shelburne
- Chiney Ogwumike
- Becky Hammon
- Monica McNutt
The sports media world reacted to the news on Twitter.
“Honored to get to witness some of these amazing women work first hand. Excited to shoot in the studio with [Malika] and [Chiney] today!” said freelance photographer Dia Miller.
“A reminder that we don’t lack capable women in this industry just opportunity. It’s good press for a day, but the commitment should extend beyond March 8,” a user replied.
“Music to my ears,” another commented.
“What a moment,” tweeted Hailey Sutton. “For so many of us, this was only a dream. Now we’re doing this at the highest level, with these ladies leading the charge for change. Literal chills. I love women.”
